The purpose of this study is to explore what the practical tasks of the Donghak faithful to the spirit of Umusangja can be. In the sense of ‘helping each other’, we can find various practical ways to improve our lives. As a research method for this purpose, the literature research methodology was basically adopted, and various empirical data and statistical indices were used. The contents of this study are as follows. First, it is about the meaning of Umusangja which meets personal aspect. This is to look at what practical tasks can be carried out independently when the subject is ‘I’ who helps each other. Second, it is about the meaning of Umusangja in accordance with social aspect. This is to see what social system is necessary for coexistence when the subject is ‘us’. The results of this study are as follows: First, escape from eco-destructive global marketing strategy. In other words, the individual who practices Umusangja can personally select his or her diet in an eco-friendly manner. Second, it is the enhancement of community consciousness for win-win life. In other words, escape from infinite competition that accelerates the phenomenon of the rich-richer and poor-poorer, and then a more fair and equitable social system can be realized.

이 연구의 목적은 유무상자의 정신에 충실한 동학의 실천 과제는 과연 무엇일 수 있는지를 탐색하는 데에 있다. ‘서로 돕는다.’는 의미 안에서 우리 삶을개선할 수 있는 다양한 실천 방안들이 모색될 수 있기 때문이다. 이를 위한 연구 방법으로는 기본적으로 문헌연구방법론을 채택하였고, 그에 더해 각종 실증 자료 및 통계 지표 등을 활용하였다. 이 연구의 내용은, 첫째, 개인적 측면에 부합하는 유무상자의 의미에 대해서이다. 이는 서로 돕는 주체가 ‘나’일 경우, 독자적으로 수행 가능한 실천 과제가 무엇인지를 살피려는 것이다. 둘째, 사회적 측면에 부합하는 유무상자의 의미에 대해서이다. 이는 서로 돕는 주체가 ‘우리’일 경우, 상생을 위해 필요한 사회적 시스템이 무엇인지를 살피려는 것이다. 이 연구의 결과는, 첫째, 생태 파괴적인 글로벌 기업의 마케팅 전략에서 벗어나기이다. 즉, 유무상자를 실천하는 개인은 주체적으로 자신의 식단을 생태 친화적으로 선택할 수 있다. 둘째, 상생을 위한 공동체 의식의 제고이다. 즉, 부익부빈익빈 현상을 가속화하는 무한경쟁과 각자도생의 방식에서 벗어나 좀 더 공정하고 평등한 사회 시스템을 구현해갈 수 있다.
