The main purpose of this study is to understand the effects of Korean dance programs on the physical fitness of middle - aged women and to use the dance program as a basic data to help improve the health of the real life. It was conducted by the following methods; 16 women in their 50s to 60s with qualified basal physical fitness by practicing Korean dance for a long time (5 years and longer) were selected and were divided into two groups of 8 for Salpuleechum and another 8 for Jindobukchum. The two groups were trained in respective programs for 12 weeks. SPSS 18.0 was used to calculate the mean and standard deviation (M±SD). Independent t-test and two-way ANOVA were used. Level of significance was set at α=.05. By measuring the exact heart rate before and after the performance, we measured how the workout strength impacted on the physical strength (muscle force, muscle endurance, flexibility, explosive muscular strength, quickness, balance and cardiovascular endurance). The results were as follows; After the middle-aged women spending 12 weeks of Salpuleechum and Jindobukchum training, there were significant differences in the physical strengths (muscle force, muscle endurance, explosive muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance) among the subjects before and after the training, in physical strengths (muscle endurance, explosive muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance) across the two groups, in physical strengths (muscle force and cardiovascular endurance) of the timing, and in mutual interaction of physical strengths (explosive muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance) across the two groups and timing.
