If a constant phonological environment is made of, dropping of the last consonant letter ‘ㄹ’ is phenomenom that automatically occurs without exception, and also it is normal for korean, but it is very difficult for foreign learners who lack of understanding of a constant phonological environment. In this paper, the study aims to show the type of improper use of ‘ㄹ’ when ‘ㄹ’ is pronounced as the last consonant letter, through recording speaking of foreign leaners. In order to find the way for forein learners to understand this pheonmenom, I also investigated the current Korean Language Textbooks using in the university to know how to explain with what vocabulary. Finally, effective teaching methods for utilizing ‘ㄹ’ predicate are suggested in 4 steps as introduction → explanation → practice → finalization.

‘ㄹ’말음 용언의 탈락은 일정의 음운 환경이 조성되면 예외 없이 일어나 는 자동적인 교체현상으로 한국인에게는 별 어려움이 없는 현상이지만 일 정의 음운 환경에 대한 이해가 부족한 외국인 학습자들에게는 이해하기 어 려운 현상이다. 이에 본 연구는 외국인 학습자의 발화를 녹음하여 ‘ㄹ’말음 용언 활용의 오류를 분석하여 유형을 정리해 보았다. 그리고 대학에서 사용하는 한국어 교재에서는 어떤 어휘로 어떻게 설명하고 있는지 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 ‘ㄹ’말음 용언 활용을 효과적으로 지도하는 방안을 도입→제시․설명→연 습․활용→마무리의 4단계로 제시하였다.
