The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of writing education experts on adult writing education. The result of the questionnaire were as follows. The writing education experts evaluated the usefulness of the writing function. ‘communication tools, thinking skill enhancing means, and positive emotional strengthening’ were useful functions for adult writers. All of the functions such as ‘Social competitiveness, new semantics, and learning functions were also useful. But it was perceives as relatively less necessity function for adult writers. Next, writing education experts had various opinions. They were expressed on questions such as the necessity of adult writing education research, the category an educatee, writing education curriculum, and policies. Based on the awareness of these writing education experts, the following points should be discussed. First, there is a need to discuss whether adult writing education focuses on workplace writer, volunteer writers, or adult writers who need to be encouraged. Second, it should also be noted whether adult writing education should be driven by national policies or by private programs. Third, demand surveys for many adults should be preceded by specific details of teachers, policies, and content of adult writing education.

이 연구의 목적은 성인 쓰기교육에 대한 쓰기교육 전문가들의 인식을 조 사하는데 있다. 쓰기가 가진 기능이 성인 필자에게 어느 정도로 유용한지 와, 성인 쓰기교육의 전반적인 사항에 대한 여러 의견에 대해 설문지에 답 하도록 하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 먼저 쓰기교육 전문가들은 쓰기 기능의 유용성을 평가하는 질문에 ‘의사 소통 도구, 사고력 증진 수단, 긍정적 정서 강화’의 순으로 성인 필자에게 유용한 기능을 평가하였다. ‘사회적 경쟁력, 새로운 의미 구성, 학습 기능’ 등과 같은 기능들도 모두 ‘조금 유용하다’ 이상의 평가를 받았지만 성인 필 자에게는 비교적 덜 필요한 기능으로 인식하고 있었다. 다음으로 성인 쓰기교육 연구의 필요성, 연구대상자의 범주, 쓰기교육과 정, 정책 등과 같은 질문에 다양한 의견을 나타내었다. 이러한 쓰기교육 전 문가의 인식을 바탕으로 앞으로 논의해야할 사항은 크게 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성인 쓰기교육 대상의 초점을 직무 글쓰기 필자, 자발적 필자, 글 쓰기 독려가 필요한 성인 중 어디에 둘 것인가에 대한 논의가 필요하다. 둘 째, 성인 쓰기교육을 국가 정책 주도로 진행할지 사설 프로그램을 활성화 하는 방향으로 할지 여부에도 주목해야 한다. 셋째, 성인 쓰기교육의 교원, 정책, 내용에 대한 구체적인 세부 계획을 위해서 많은 성인들을 대상으로 한 요구조사가 선행되어야 한다.
