The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in the happiness of young children according to their age, gender, and educational time in early childhood education institutions. The subjects of this study were 94 children in the 5 yeard-old and 103 children in the 6 years-old. A total of 197 children were assessed using the teacher rating scale. Data analysis was conducted by independent sample t-test to find out the difference of young children's happiness according to age, sex, and education time in early childhood education institution. The results of this study are as follows: First, the happiness of 6 years-old was significantly higher than that of 5 years-old. Second, the happiness of girls was significantly higher than that of boys. Third, the happiness of young children in half-class was significantly higher than that of young children in half-class. The results of this study suggest that the age, gender, and educational time of early childhood education institutions are important variables in predicting the happiness of young children.

본 연구의 목적은 유아의 연령, 성별 및 유아교육기관에서의 교육시간에 따른 유아의 행복감의 차이를 알아보 고자 하였다. 연구대상은 5세 94명과 6세 103명, 총 197명이었으며, 연구방법은 교사 평정척도를 이용하여 유아의 행복 감을 측정하였다. 자료분석은 유아의 연령, 성별, 유아교육기관에서의 교육시간에 따른 유아의 행복감의 차이를 알아보 기 위해 독립표본 t-검증을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 6세 유아의 행복감이 5세 유아보다 유의한 차이로 더 높게 나 타났다. 둘째, 여아의 행복감이 남아보다 유의한 차이로 더 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 반일제 반 유아의 행복감이 종일제 반 유아보다 유의한 차이로 더 높게 나타났다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과는 유아의 행복감을 예측하는데 연령, 성별 및 유아 교육기관에서 보내는 교육시간이 중요한 변인임을 시사한다.
