The aims of this study is to attempt to explore the new orientations and tasks of Christian education which is required in this modern scientific age. For this purpose, Teilhard de Chardin's insight of science is investigated for seeking the possibilities of the key role of Christian education in this modern scientific age. Therefore, this study pursues to suggest the new orientation and task of Christian education based on Teilhard de Chardin's insight of science from the wholistic viewpoints. In other words, this study tries to have the wholistic viewpoints focusing on Teilhard de Chardin's insight of universal evolution which leads us to the universality and personality of universal love included in the energy of universal love. Ultimately, it leads us to the Omega point which is the ultimate point evolved by the reflective energy of free love. That is, Omega point is Jesus Christ who evolves into universal love equipped the universality and personality by the reflective energy of free love. From this kind of exploring course, the new orientation and task of Christian education suggests as follows: first, Christian education as the human acts for the life of communication between God and human; second, Christian education as the practice of the universal love fulfilling the union with God. This study closes with three suggestions as follows: first, Christian education should give opportunities to every christians for reflecting the evolution of life in God; second, Christian education should let any christians go from the kingdom of God which is in inside them to the kingdom of God which grows and develops in this world; thirdly, Christian education should discipline all of christians to be full of the kingdom of God with three kinds of virtues; namely, purity, faith, and fidelity. In conclusion, further discussion on Teilhard de Chardin's insight of science should be encouraged and supported by the wholistic viewpoints of Christian education. More fellow-up studies of Christian education on the universality and personality of universal love should be kept on studying deeply and ecumenically.

본 연구는 현대 과학시대에 요청되고 있는 기독교교육을 통전적 관점에서 탐구하고자 한다. 구체적으로 서술하자면, 빅뱅 이론으로 대표되는 현대 우주론이 제기하는 우주폭발의 위협 앞에서 살아가는 현대 기독교인들을 위해 기독교교육이 나아가야 할 방향과 과제를 탐구하고자 하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 이러한 목적을 위해 본 연구는 신학자이자 과학자인 떼이야르의 우주 진화론 및 과학적 통찰에 근거하여 우주적 사랑의 보편성과 인격성에 기초한 통전적 기독교교육을 연구하고자 한다. 이를 위해 우주가 알파 포인트인 빅뱅으로부터 오메가 포인트인 그리스도에게로 진화한다는 떼이야르의 우주 진화론에 대한 과학적 통찰을 고찰한다. 떼이야르의 이러한 과학적 통찰은 우주 진화의 힘이자 우주의 모든 존재 내에 있는 우주적 사랑의 에너지가 품고 있는 보편성과 인격성에로 우리의 관심을 집중하게 한다. 더 나아가 궁극적으로, 인간의 반성적인 자유로운 사랑의 에너지가 보편성과 인격성을 갖춘 우주적 사랑으로 진화한 (진화의) 궁극적 수렴점, 곧 오메가 포인트인 그리스도에게로 우리의 관심을 향하게 한다. 본 연구는 떼이야르의 이러한 과학적 통찰에 근거하여 기독교교육이 우주적 사랑의 보편성과 인격성을 향한 길 인도로서의 역할을 할 수 있겠는가를 탐색한다. 이러한 탐색의 과정을 거쳐 연구자는 우주적 사랑의 보편성과 인격성을 지향하는 통전적 기독교교육으로서 하나님과 교통하는 삶을 위한 인간의 행동으로서의 기독교교육, 하나님과 일체를 이루는 우주적 사랑의 실천으로서의 기독교교육을 제시한다. 연구자는 다음과 같은 제언을 함으로써 본 연구를 마무리 한다. 첫째로, 기독교교육은 모든 그리스도인으로 하여금 하나님 안에서의 생명 진보에 관한 성찰을 할 수 있도록 모든 기회를 제공해야 한다. 둘째로, 기독교교육은 모든 그리스도인으로 하여금 자신의 내면에 있는 하나님의 나라로부터 출발하여 세계 안에서 발전하고 성장하는 하나님의 나라로 나아가게 해야 한다. 셋째로, 기독교교육은 모든 무한자 가운데 가장 능동적인 덕, 즉 순수와 신앙과 충실의 세 가지 덕으로 하나님의 나라를 충만하게 하도록 모든 그리스도인을 훈련하도록 해야 한다. 결론적으로, 연구자의 이러한 우주적 사랑의 보편성과 인격성을 지향하는 통전적 기독교교육의 제언이 실천되어 사도 바울이 소망했던 바와 같이 모든 피조물이 그리스도에게 이끌려 우주적 사랑 안에 하나가 되는 인류의 미래가 펼쳐지길 기대한다.
