The purpose of this study is to examined validity of Grit scale for physical education in elementary school. The subjects are 544(boys:266, girls: 288) elementary children who live in G city. This study use Grit-S scale which made by Duckworth & Quinn(2009). The results as follows; The Grit scale include two factors as perseverance of effort which are composed 8 items and as consistency of interests which are composed 4 items. In explanatory factor analysis, eigenvalue of Factors I is 5.52 and its of factor II is 2.48, factor of loads of factor I have .72〜.87 and its of factor II have .69〜.79. In analysis confirmed factor analysis, there are χ2 =106.51(p<.01), CMIN/df = 2.42, GF = .969, NFI=.972, TLI=.975, CFI=.983, RMR=.027, and RMSEA=.048. This is confirmed its construct validity and cross validity. Therefore this Grit scale which is used this study is can used other syduy.

이 연구는 초등체육수업에서 성공을 예측하는 요인으로서 Grit을 선정하고 척도를 타당화하는 데 그 목적을 두었 다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 G 광역시에 거주하고 있는 초등학교 학생 554명(남:266, 여:288)을 대상으 로 Duckworth와 Quinn(2009) 및 Christensen과 Knezek(2014)이 사용한 바 있는 Grit 척도를 초등체육수업 상황에 맞게 수정하여 수집된 자료를 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 통해 분석한 결과 이 연구에서 사용된 12문항의 Grit척도는 ‘노력의 지속성’요인이 제1요인으로 나타났고, 제2요인은 ‘흥미 일관성’으로 확인되었다. 이는 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석(χ2 = 106.51, CMIN/df=2.42, GFI=.969, NFI=.972, TLI=.975, CFI=.983, RMR=.027, RMSEA=.048)에서 타당도가 확인되었으며 집중타당도를 나타내는 AVE지수도 양호한 것으로 나타났 고, 수렴타당도도 확인되었다. 따라서 추후 연구자는 초등체육에서 성공의 예측 인자로서 Grit을 측정함에 있어서 이 척도가 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
