Director Shin, Dong-il is one of the artists who is constantly pursuing his own work theme with his artistic insistence in the Korean film industry. He is an artist who criticizes modern society's systems, ideologies, and ills and questions them all the time. (2017), which he introduced in eight years after , is an extension of the work theme pursued by previous works, but it is a work that shows a different change from previous works. In this paper, I divide the world of works Shin, Dong-il pursues into three types of Others, Boundaries, and Drives, analyzing the common points and changes of . And through such analysis, I will examine the work theme of Director Shin Dong-il and measure the direction of change.

신동일 감독은 한국 영화계에서 작가적 고집으로 자신만의 작품 세계를 지속적으로 추구하고 있는 작가 중 한 명이다. 신동일 감독은 현대 사회의 시스템과 이데올로기, 그리고 병폐에 대해 비판하고 줄곧 그것에 대해 질문을 던 져온 작가이다. 그가 <반두비> 이후 8년 만에 선보인 <컴, 투게더>(2017)는 전작들에서 추구했던 작품세계의 연장 선상에 있으면서도 전작들과는 다른 변화를 보여주고 있는 작품이다. 본 논문은 신동일 감독이 추구하고 있는 작품세 계를 크게 타자, 경계, 충동의 3가지로 나누어 전작들과 <컴, 투게더>의 공통점과 변화들을 비교하면서 분석한다. 그 리고 그러한 분석을 통해 신동일 감독의 작품 세계를 고찰하고 변화 방향을 가늠한다.
