Jinsei-nori is a Seishi-nori that wishes for the health of a child and the productivity of a growth rite in honor of the elderly. The welfare of the village and the abundance of the crops is consistent with this productivity-based growth ritual. Jinsei-nori is divided into July 7th on lunar calendar, moongut and mardanggut when it is the Tanabatae, demonstration of cleaning the well, shoal of wells, samut, and matching Hanmadang. In Yeosu area, Jinsei-nori says “It is a day to eat” and it is a place where children who are 3 or 5 years old have a drink and food, entertain and play with the villagers. In Yeosu area, the child was three years old. ‘Jinsei’ means ‘the sun goes down’. It is a custom that has the origin of asking good children to grow up well. Until liberation, a child who was five years old was called “Jinsei” regardless of sex, but after that, he called a three year old child “Jinsei”. The custom of ‘stepping on the tail of the Jinsei’ means ‘cutting off the Jinsei tail’ and ‘passing the difficult edge’ now means that the child must pass the Jinsei ban at this time and pass the infancy safely. This is a folklore that uniquely appears in the Yeosu area of Jeollanam-do. It is a living figure of a village community where a child and a village adult are together, but now, it is a tradition only. On the third Monday of May every year, there is a ceremony with a rosy heart that encourages and encourages adults who have come to the community. It is hoped that the Jinsei -nori held at Tanabata in July will be widely known as a rite of passage of rituals and united rites. In this paper, we will examine the case of Jinsei-nori performed in Jeollanam - do Yeosu area and the characteristics of Jinsei-nori as a ritual and a ritual for growth.
