Research on out-of-school youth is one of the most recent social issues. Attention to drop-out of school youth is discussed from a supportive and preventive perspective. One of the social problems of drop-out of school youth is that they can be offender or victims. In particular, it is very serious that the situation related to crime is vicious. Nonetheless, studies related to adolescents and adolescents of drop-out of school are mainly discussed through crossing -sectional data. Therefore, this study grouped drop-out of school youth and general adolescents and analyzedthem. First, the two groups identified differences in the increase in substance use (drinking,smoking). Also checked whether substance use affects the increase in delinquency behavior.As a result of the analysis, drop-out of school adolescents increased the use of substance more than general adolescents. Increased use of the substance was found to be a variable that accounted for the increase in delinquency behavior.Finally, the analysis suggested that drop-out of school adolescents need control on drinking and smoking and that effective programs should be introduced.

학교 밖 청소년에 대한 연구는 최근 사회적 문제 중 하나로 이슈로 자리 잡은 지 오래다. 학교 밖 청소년에 대한 관심은 학교 밖 또는 학교와 연계된 지원방법에 대한 논의와 예방적인관점에서 주로 다루어지고 있다. 학교 밖 청소년에 관한 사회적 문제 중 하나는 비행뿐 아니라 범죄의 가해 및 피해 대상이 될 수 있다는 점이다. 특히, 미성년인 상황에서 범죄와 관련된 상황이 악순환 된다는 점에서 그 심각성이 높다. 그럼에도 불구하고 일반청소년과 학교 밖청소년의 비행에 대한 연구는 아직까지 횡단자료를 통한 연구가 주를 이루고 있다. 따라서 이연구는 학교 밖 청소년과 일반청소년을 집단화해 음주 및 흡연과 같은 물질사용의 증가에 차이가 있는지 확인하고, 물질사용이 결국 비행행동 증가에 영향을 미치는지 확인하고자 했다. 확인 결과, 학교 밖 청소년은 일반청소년 보다 물질사용이 유의미하게 증가한다는 점을 확인했으며, 물질사용의 증가는 비행행동의 증가를 설명하는 변수임을 확인했다. 분석결과를 토대로 학교 밖 청소년의 지원적 관점에서 특별히 음주 및 흡연에 대한 제재의 필요성과 효과적인 프로그램의 도입이 필요한 시점임을 제언했다.
