Recently the automotive internal network is using for various purposes such as control of a vehicle, diagnostics and ECU program upgrade. CAN and FlexRay are the most representative networks. Automotive ethernet and CAN FD are being actively studied as next-generation networks. In this paper, we evaluated the performance of CAN, CAN FD, FlexRay and Automotive Ethernet networks in terms of ECU upgrade program. Through the simulation result, we found that Automotive Ethernet was the most suitable next-generation network in terms of price and performance.
