The purpose of this paper is to examine the removal verb ‘suteru(throw away)’ and ‘beolida(throw away)’ from a contrastive linguistic point of view. The findings in this study are as follows : Firstly, the meaning of a simple verb ‘beolida’〈je gusil-eul moshage hada(spoil；inhure；impair)〉is not implicit in the verb ‘suteru’ while the verbs such as ‘kowasu(injure), sokonau(lose), dainasinisuru(spoil) and dameninaru(spoil)’ can be taken as a corresponding form. Secondly, between the compound noun ‘~sute’ and it’s literal translation ‘~beolim’, the former is more frequently used than the latter. Thirdly, the compound verb ‘~suteru’ is more productive than ‘~beolida’, and compound verb such as ‘yaki･suteru(burn up)’ corresponds to verb phrase ‘tae-wo･beolida(burn up)’ in Korean. Finally, the examples of ‘~te･suteru’ as an auxiliary verb were found in the first half of the 13th century or the second half of the 14th century, while those of ‘~eo･beolida’ as an auxiliary verb has been available since 15th century. The former usage seemed to have gradually been superseded by ‘~te･simau’ between the late 14th and late 17th centuries. As a result, no equal correspondence is established between the auxiliary verb　combination ‘~eo･beolida’ and ‘~te･suteru’ in modern languages.

本稿は、除去動詞｢捨てる｣と｢버리다｣を対照言語学の観点から考察したものである。その結果、以下のことが明らかにされた。 1)単純動詞｢버리다｣の〈제 구실을 못하게 하다〉という意味は｢捨てる｣にはなく、その対応形としては｢壊す、損なう、台無しにする、駄目になる｣のような訳が挙げられる。 2)複合名詞｢~捨て｣形とそれの逐語訳｢~버림｣形とでは、後者より前者の方が使用頻度が高い。 3)複合動詞｢~捨てる｣と｢~버리다｣とでは前者の方が生産性が高く、｢焼き捨てる｣のような｢複合動詞｣は韓国語では｢태워 버리다｣のような｢動詞句｣が対応する。 4)補助動詞的に用いられた｢~て捨てる｣の例は13世紀前半~14世紀後半の資料から、｢~어 버리다｣の例は15世紀の資料から確認できる。前者の用法は14世紀後半から17世紀後半の間に次第に｢~てしまう｣に取って代わられたと考えられ、その結果、現代語における補助動詞結合｢~어 버리다｣は｢~て捨てる｣との間に対等な対応関係が成立しない。
