『Thousands of characters Classic』spreaded in Korea is a special Chinese character culture formed in the foreign language scene. The changes, that South Korea's 『Thousands of characters Classic』becomes from a single form that one word has one class to multiform, reflects the transition over times. At the same time, it also records the vicissitudes of the history of Korea like a diary. 『Thousands of characters Classic』 in South Korea has played the role of Chinese characters first learning book, Chinese character teaching book, Chinese poem or Confucian classic study book. It also has an indelible value in the history of education and moral enlightenment. Therefore, this paper is based on a new vision and classification method, investigating on the diverse versions of 『Thousands of characters Classic』 which has important value in the history of Korean Chinese character eduction in the past dynasties, clarifying the changing path of 『Thousands of characters Classic』 from the version for Chinese character beginner to the version including rich information, to highlight the unique features of different versions by contrast and analysis, and more mainly to conclude the value of 『Thousands of characters Classic』 in Korean Confucianism, and the Enlightenment of human nature.

중국에서 전래된 『천자문』은 중국 고대 역사적 배경과 한자의 언어적 특징이 응축된 중국 문화의 대표적인 서적이다. 한국에서의 『천자문』은 단지 한자에 훈과 음을 다는 단순한형식에 그치지 않고 다양한 변화와 발전의 모습을 보여 왔다. 이런 변화는 시대상을 반영할뿐만 아니라, 마치 역사기록처럼 한국의 역동적인 역사의 변천을 반영하고 있다. 『천자문』 은 한국에서 한자 학습서, 서예 교본 및 한시나 유교 기본 사상 습득에 있어서 가장 기본으로여기는 학습서이기도 하다. 이는 한자 교육서로의 역할과 유교적 도덕 계몽서로 중요한 가치를 지니는 책이라 할 수 있다. 이에 본고에서는 새로운 시각에 입각하여 『천자문』의 다양한판본을 연구 대상으로 『천자문』이 한자 초보자를 대상으로 한 판본에서 부터 유교 사상의다양한 정보를 담은 판본으로 변천되는 경로를 밝히고자 한다. 또한 비교 분석의 방법적 틀을이용하여 서로 다른 판본들이 각각의 독특한 특성이 있음을 밝히고 한국에서『천자문』이 지니고 있는 유교 사상 교육 및 인성 교육이라는 계몽적 가치를 도출하고자 한다.
