In the beauty industry, aesthetic and formative-art factors have been added to face and body-decorating behavior. In particular, there have been diverse attempts to develop mask art illustrations through the introduction of inspiration and motifs in makeup images as well as in makeup. This study investigates winding curves, spirals, shapes and background, and elaborate colors through Hundertwasser’s illustration and analyzes the characteristics of formative language in his illustration. The aim of this study is to examine the meaning of illustration in modern times based on the nature of the human imagination through his illustrations and to determine the extension of artistic motifs and future-oriented directions through the application of his works. In terms of study methods, literature reviews and analysis were performed through exhibitions and his work collection focusing on his works and formative characteristics. The production and works of mask art illustrations were then examined. It is anticipated that the unique artistic emotions of illustration can help students develop creativity through communication and play a large role as a new genre of beauty art.

뷰티분야에서는 사람의 얼굴과 신체를 치장하는 행위로 미적요소와 조형예술적 요소를 접목하여 그 범위를 확장하고 있다. 특히 메이크업에 있어서 아트마스크(Mask art)는 메이크업 이미지 뿐 아니 라 예술가의 작품에서 디자인의 영감 및 모티브를 도입시켜 디자인 개발과 다양한 표현기법의 아트 마스크 일러스트레이션을 발전시키려는 시도가 다양하게 이뤄지고 있다. 본 연구는 훈데르트바서의 일러스트레이션을 통해 구불구불한 곡선과 빙빙 도는 나선형태, 형상 과 배경, 그리고 화려한 색채의 특성을 고찰하고 그의 일러스트레이션에 내재되어 있는 조형언어의 특성을 분석한다. 그리고 그의 일러스트레이션을 통해 인간 상상력의 본질을 바탕으로 일러스트레이 션의 현대적 의미를 살피며 작품응용을 통해 아트마스크 일러스트레이션의 예술적 모티브의 확장과 미래지향적인 방향을 모색하는 데 연구목적이 있다. 연구방법은 그의 작품세계와 조형적 특성을 중심으로 다양한 텍스트를 통한 문헌연구와 관련된 전시회, 작품집을 통한 분석연구를 토대로 아트마스크 일러스트레이션의 제작 및 작품연구를 위주로 한다. 교육현장에서 일러스트레이션의 독특한 예술적 감성은 학생과의 소통을 통한 창의성 개발에 이해를 높일 수 있으며, 새로운 뷰티예술의 장르로서 역할 가능성이 클 것으로 기대해 본다.
