This is the study about the image of woman which Soseki described in the literatures from Sansiro to Kokoro. It is said that Soseki Natume wrote about the triangular love affair literature from Sansiro to Kokoro. But Sansiro, Sorekara, and Mon are literatures about immorality and Higansugimade, Koujin, and Kokoro are literatures about the collapse of love between man and woman. The woman commits adultery for love in the former whereas the woman meets the collapse of love between husband or fiance because of the sense of sin of the man in the latter. The woman suffers from the man in the former and the man suffers from the woman in the latter. In this way Soseki wrote about the ruin of the woman who follows the man and the ruin of the man who married the woman. One can conclude that Soseki was very skeptic to love and marriage.

본고는 『산시로』부터 『고코로』까지 나쓰메 소세키의 작품을 삼각관계를 중심으로 전기 삼부작과 후기 삼부작에 묘사된 여성상을 비교하여 여성상의 변화의 의미를 밝히려는 것이다. 소세키는 『산시로』부터 『고코로』까지 삼각관계에 대해서 소설을 썼다고 전해진다. 하지만 전기 삼부작과 후기 삼부작은 주제가 다르고 여성상도 달라진다. 전자는 사랑 때문에 불륜을 범하여 죄의식 때문에 고통 받는 여성의 모습이 묘사되어 있고 후자는 남자의 죄의식 때문에 남자로부터 사랑을 받지 못한 여성의 고통이 묘사되고 있다. 이렇게 남성 때문에 희생당하는 여성과 여성 때문에 희생당하는 남성이 묘사되어 있다. 소세키는 전기 삼부작과 후기 삼부작으로 인해 정반대 입장에 있는 남녀를 묘사했다고 할 수 있다.
