based on the Tale of Genji of the Noh play in the Muromachi era is a popular work that is often performed today. The focus of the episode is a plot where Lady Rokujō, Genji's mistress, harasses Lady Aoi. However, there are many differences from the Tale of Genji, such as a story of Lady Rokujō reflecting on her behavior. As such, there is an opinion that is not the work directly inspired by the Tale of Genji. However, considering that the media has conversed from literature to performing art, those differences are reasonable. In this paper, we analyze the expressions between and the Tale of Genji that have not been researched yet and look for the features of the media conversion from literature to performing arts.

〈아오이노우에(葵上)〉는 『겐지 이야기』를 소재로 한 무로마치시대의 노(能)로, 오늘날에도 자주 상연되는 인기작품이다. 내용은 『겐지 이야기』 중에서도 겐지의 애인인 로코조미야스도코로(六条御息所)의 생령(生靈)이 정처 아오이노우에(葵上)를 괴롭히는 부분을 중심으로 구성되어 있다. 하지만 로쿠조미야스도코로가 결국 반성하여 성불하는 등, 『겐지 이야기』와는 다른 부분이 많다. 이 때문에 〈아오이노우에〉가 『겐지 이야기』를 직접 보고 인용한 것이 아니라는 견해가 있다. 그러나 소설에서 무대예술로 미디어가 달라졌다는 점을 감안한다면, 그러한 차이점은 당연한 것으로 생각된다. 본고에서는 지금까지 연구에서 지적되지 않았던 다양한 표현분석을 통해, 〈아오이노우에〉와 『겐지 이야기』의 상관관계를 검증하였다. 그리고 문학작품에서 연극으로 미디어가 변환됨에 따라 어떠한 작품세계가 펼쳐지는지 구명하였다.
