This research is an experimental study to analysis the preference of playing type for elementary school students depending on demographic features and reveal the relation between this analysis and the leadership on elementary school students for dedicating to the development of educational playing activity. As stratified cluster random sampling, 381 elementary school students living in Seoul, Incheon paticipated in this research, guided by the questionnaire about the playing type and the leadership. Variance analysis of this data using SPSS(WIN)22.0 shows following; First, The preference of playing type; By gender–based anlaysis, boys are prefer compete play to girls and girls are prefer imitate play to boys. By grade-based analysis, 6th graders are prefer to 5th graders in compete games. Second, By GPA-based analysis, for leadership achievement, higher graders’ score are more than middle graders’, middle graders’ score are more than lower graders.’ Finally, As of the preference of playing type for elementary school students(dividing high and low group) to find the correlation with the leadership. Students who prefer compete play and dizzy play tend to have a leadership comparing to others

본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 아동을 대상으로 인구통계학적 특성에 따른 놀이유형 선호도를 분석하고 리더십과의 관계를 규명하여 교육적 놀이의 발전에 도움이 되고자 하는데 있으며, 연구대상은 유층 집락 무선 표집법을 통해 모집된 인천지역의 초등학교 4, 5, 6학년 381명의 아동으로 하였다. 아동의 놀이유형 선호도관련 설문지와 리더십관련 설문지 를 사용하여 설문조사를 실시하였고, 수집된 자료를 통계 분석하여 얻은 자료는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 경쟁놀이는 남자가 여자보다 유의하게 높게 나타났고 모방놀이는 여자가 남자보다 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 경쟁놀이에서는 6학년이 5학 년보다 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 성적에 따른 리더십의 차이를 분석한 결과, 대부분 하위유형들은 상위권의 학생들이 중위 권의 학생들보다, 중위권의 학생들이 하위권의 학생들보다 높게 나타났다.(상위권 > 중위권 > 하위권)셋째, 초등학교 아동의 놀이유형 선호도를 상, 하로 구분하여 리더십과의 관계를 조사한 결과 경쟁놀이와 현기놀이를 선호하는 상집단 과 선호하지 않는 하집단 간에는 분명한 차이가 있었으며, 리더십의 모든 하위유형에서 경쟁놀이와 현기놀이를 선호하 는 상집단이 선호하지 않는 하집단보다 높게 나타났다. 즉, 경쟁놀이와 현기놀이를 선호하는 아이들은 리더십이 높게 나타난 것이다.
