This study investigates Partner selection criteria and Contract complexity as a transaction risk management method for inter - organizational relationships. We empirically investigated the impact of transaction characteristics on transactional risk on the importance of other selection criteria and Contract complexity used in collaboration management when selecting collaborative partners. The survey data shows that when faced with greater risk in the transaction context, the company emphasizes trust and reputation based selection criteria for partner selection and develops more complex contracts to manage collaborations. The results showed that transaction scope (purchase / production) had a significant positive effect on Contract inclusiveness, and Task interdependence had a significant positive effect on Contract specificity. And Task interdependence had a significant positive effect on Partner selection criteria, and Partner selection criteria had a significant positive effect on Contract specificity. In the indirect effect analysis of Contract specificity, the Tsak interdependence was found to have a mediating effect on Contract specificity through partner selection criteria. The Partner selection criteria show that the information required in the partner selection process in response to the risk is in part consistent with the argument that facilitating contract design for risk management.
