This paper aims to discribe from the correspondence between the Portuguese poet and magistrate Alberto Osorio de Castro and his friend, Camilo Pessanha, the poetic power of these authors in exile in Asia. This reseach focuses on the dialogue that the letters establish with the issues of Eastern, in particular Timor-Leste and Macau. We suppose that in these texts the representation of a symbolic Orient is materialized in the productions of these authors.

Esse trabalho pretende descrever, a partir das correspondências entre o poeta e magistrado português Alberto Osório de Castro e seu amigo, também poeta, Camilo Pessanha, a potência poética desses autores em exílio na Ásia. Seu foco é o diálogo que as cartas estabelecem com os temas de viés oriental, em particular Timor-Leste e Macau. Com isso, supomos que há nesses textos a representação de um Oriente simbólico, materializado nas produções desses autores.
