This paper studies the aspects of postmemory reflected in the animated films of the film director Kim Jungi, and , which suggests a new framework of memory and reproduction about the Japanese Military “Comfort Women,” a postcolonial issue that the world is currently paying attention. For this, this study analyzes the colonial women’s selfnarratives about historical memory and oblivion, and the strategies of historical reproduction through memory, and also reveals its politics of memory. The process in which memories lost and damaged by the historical wounds are delivered and rememorized through popular media such as animated films creates the effect of presenting the past and revealing the politics of collective memory by reflecting the present into the past. The narratives of the colonial experiences and sufferings that testify through the voice of the actual interviewee shared memories of the past, present and future, and act as catalysts to achieve postcolonialism by breaking the boundaries. This is not only to illuminate the tragic life of the victims of the Japanese Military Sexual Slavery, but also gives meaning to the politics of memory by letting audiences gain an insight into history and meet history with a dispassionate view. Furthermore, history is restored again by arousing reality as it reaches the points of memory that official history has not mentioned, and by embracing the world beyond reality.

본 논문은 현재 전 세계가 주목하는 탈식민(postcolonial)의 문제인 일본군 ‘위안부’에 대한 기억과 재현의 새로운 틀을 제시한 김준기 감독의 애니메이션 <소녀이야기>와 <소녀에게>에 반영된 포스트메모리(postmemory)의 양상을 연구한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 역사적 기억과 망각에 대한 식민지 여성의 자기 서사, 기억을 통한 역사적 재현 전략을 분석하고 그것의 기억 정치를 드러내고자 한다. 역사적 상처로 인해 소실되고 훼손된 기억이 애니메이션이라는 대중적 미디어를 통해 전달되고 재기억되는 과정은 과거를 현재화시키고 현재를 과거 속으로 투영하여 집단적 기억의 정치로 발현하는 효과를 낳는다. 실제 인터뷰이의 육성을 통해 증언하는 식민의 경험과 고통의 서사는 과거-현재-미래의 기억을 공유하고 경계를 허물어 탈식민을 성취하기 위한 기폭제로 작용한다. 이는 위안부 피해자의 비극적인 삶을 조명하는 데 그치지 않고 관객으로 하여금 냉정한 시선으로 역사와 조우하고 통찰하게 함으로써 기억의 정치에 의미를 부여한다. 나아가 공식 역사가 언급하지 못했던 기억의 지점들에 닿아 현실을 환기시키고 현실 너머의 세계를 포용함으로 역사는 다시 복원된다.
