Japan accomplished rapid economic growth after the end of the World War II. The global community paid attention by Japanese culture as a cause of the economic growth. The Japanese life ethic and occupation ethic received attention in particular in that. This is because it was superior to other countries. However it is cultural assets built through the history and Japanese-style value. The Japanese works with diligent work ethic for society. The history begins in the early modern times, and it is necessary to pay attention in it. In the early modern times in Japan and was diligent, and there were many thinkers who practiced value such as economy, the patience. They performed an electric wave of the thought to people positively. The aim of this paper is Japanese ethic awareness from a cultural point of view in the early modern times. And I made clear that ethic awareness was inherited as a Japanese traditional occupation ethic.

일본인의 생활·직업윤리는 국내외적으로 주목받고 있는 표적인 일본인의 사유양식이자 행동양식이고 그것은 다름 아닌 역사적 문화적 토양위에 구축된 일본적 가치이다. 일본 인들이 근면한 노동관을 바탕으로 사회의 공익성을 추구하는 가치관은 근세시대 상인의 법도나 농촌사회의 재건을 위해 분투한 실천적 사상가들의 사상이 이를 변하고 있다. 이에 본고에서는 역사·문화적 관점에서 근·현이전에 형성된 일본인의 생활윤리와 직업윤리를 주목하여 그것이 구체적으로 형성된 근세시대를 중심으로 일본인의 의식구조가 형성된 역사문화적 기반을 검증해보고자 한다. 이 과정에서 필자가 주목하고 싶은 것은 근세시대에 구체화되어 실제 서민생활에 투영된 일본적 가치로서 일본인의 사유·행동양식의 특징, 이른바 생활윤리⇄직업윤리의 실태이고, 이를 위해 근세서민의 윤리의식 구축과 확산에 커다란 공헌을 한 민간학자(실천적 사상가)들의 사상을 중점적으로 분석했다.
