The aim of the present study is to develop a Korean Japanese Economic Cooperation Index that displays the overall level and degree of the cooperation between the two countries in order to find a developmental plan for Korean Japanese Economic Cooperation. The results of the analysis and the implications are as follows. First, the present study is the first to develop a model that may be utilized to gauge the degree of economic cooperation between Korea and Japan. Second, the result that the accomplishment of the cooperation between the two nations is lower than its potential may be interpreted as there being enough possibility to produce more successful outcome in the future. Third, the present study once again confirmed that many factors come into effect in determining the level of Korean Japanese economic cooperation.

본 논문의 목적은 한･일경제협력의 정도와 수준을 객관적이며 종합적으로 나타낼 수 있는 ‘한･일경제협력지수’를 개발하여 한일경제협력의 발전방안을 도출하는 것이다. 분석결과와 시사점을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 연구에서는 한일경제협력의 정도를 확인하기위한 모형을 최초로 개발하였다. 둘째, 한일경제협력의 성과가 잠재력 보다 낮다는 결과는앞으로 경제협력의 성과를 높일 수 있는 가능성이 충분히 있다는 의미로 해석할 수 있다. 셋째 본 연구를 통해 한일경제협력의 정도를 결정하는데 여러 가지 요소들이 영향을 미치는 것을 다시 한 번 확인할 수 있었다.
