This study investigates the mutual recognition of university students in Korea and Japan. First, It is showed that many university students in Japan are relatively more interested in the other country than University Students in Korea. Second, All Korea and Japan university students think of the Korea󰠏Japan relations bad. Third, the image of the other country for Korea and Japan university students to obtain from media appeared to be largely positive. Fourth, In Korea and Japan all of students responded positively on homestay and expanding civic interchanges. Fifth, all students in Korea and Japan are aware of the seriousness of the anti-Japanese sentiment and anti-Korean sentiment, regardless of interest and preference the majority of students responded that their governments should do more effort.

본 연구는 한일 양국의 대학생이 갖고 있는 상호인식을 고찰하였다. 첫째, 일본의 대학생들이 한국의 대학생보다 상대국에 상대적으로 관심이 많은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 한일 양국의 대학생 모두 한일관계가 나쁘다고 생각하고 있다. 셋째, 한일 양국의 대학생 모두 언론보도로부터 얻는 상대국의 이미지는 대체로 긍정적인 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 한일 양국 학생 모두 홈스테이 및 민간교류 확대에 대한 의견 등은 긍정적인 응답이 높게 나타났다. 여섯째, 한일 양국 학생 모두 혐한 및 반일정서의 심각함을 알고 있으며 관심도 및 선호도와 관계없이 대부분의 학생들이 자국 정부가 더 많은 노력을 해야 한다고 응답하였다.
