This dissertation is an analysis of phonic phase shown in Korean idol group names written in returns to “The Arbitrariness of Phonetic Symbol” and deals with whether there is a relation between speech sound and meaning in the use of proper nouns like it is characterized for onomatopoeia or general vocabulary. As a result of referring idol group names to vocabulary and coined words, there was a characterization shown in relation to gender, and also, use of phonic phase in proper noun was made clear.

본고에서는 ‘언어기호의 자의성(恣意性)’에 대한 반례로서, 오노매토피어 (onomatopoeia)나 일반어휘 이외의 고유 명사에 있어서도 言語音과 意味 사이에 有縁 性이 있는지를 검증하기 위해 한국 아이돌 그룹명의 음상(音相)에 대해서 분석을 해 보았다. 아이돌 그룹명을 ‘어휘’와 ‘조어’에 나누어 고찰한 결과, 성별에 의한 특징이 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었고, 고유 명사에도 음상이 있다는 것이 밝혀졌다.
