This study is to research “Temptation” which was published by Akutagawa Ryunosuke in 1927 in the view of signification of language and images. The Silent film had its glory days in the mid 1920's. Due to the growing interest in the film, the literary world also paid much attention to the film. There is no doubt that filmizing novels and replacing images with language made literary men rethink the literary area. The scenario, “Temptation” by AkutagawaRyunosuke tried to realize fantasy and mobility of the silent film through language. This study is to provide a new point of view towards the study of Akutagawa's work and the Japanese modernism by analyzing his scenario.

본 논문은 아쿠타가와 류노스케가 1927년에 발표한 시나리오 「유혹」을 분석대상 으로 하여 작품 속에 드러난 영화성을 고찰하고 작가의 영화인식을 조명하는 것을 목 적으로 한다. 1920년대 중반은 무성영화가 전성기를 이루던 시대였고, 영화에 대한 대 중들의 관심이 높아짐에 따라, 문단에서도 영화를 강하게 의식했던 시대였다. 소설을 영화화하고, 영상을 언어로 치환하는 작업들은 문학자들이 문학의 영역을 다시 생각하 는 계기가 되었다. 아쿠타가와의 시나리오 ‘유혹’에는 영화가 본질로서 갖는 환상성이 라는 주제, 그리고 무성영화 특유의 청각적 환영성과 운동성이 두드러지는데, 이는 작 가의 영화에 대한 깊은 인식과 통찰력에 토대하고 있음을 반증한다.
