The improvement of the information technology such as Internet brought a tremendous effects on real estate market. Due to its own characters as of local distinctiveness and individuality people who want to have market value for anticipating property must visit the place of the property to get useful information regarding to the property. But now thanks to the Internet it becomes possible to have the necessary information about the property at every decision making step in their home. That is, Internet not only reduces the cost of real estate information but saves time for searching and reviewing market value for the property. Although this change is very global, domestic real estate information industries seem to be slow on adapting such change because of their limited financial and human resources. Moreover, it is not uncommon to see faked information regarding selling property provided by some small real estate information services. Based on these circumstances this study reviews the natures of real estate information and legal elements that impede the development of real estate information services. Finally, this study argues that to solve the these problems real estate information service companies including major real estate portal enterprises needs to improve the credibility and quality of their services based on legal standards while government needs to amend existing regulations for real estate information services simultaneously.

부동산의 부동의 특징 때문에 구매자의 현장답사는 필수적인 과정이다. 그런데 최근에 와서 주요 부동산 포털사이트에서 부동산에 관한 거의 모든 정보를 찾을 수 있게 되면서 부동산정보는 국민경제에 필수적인 기본정보가 되었다. 하지만 일부 부동산 포털사이트의 허위 매물과 부정확한 시세정보는 인터넷에서 제공하는 부동산 정보 전체의 신뢰도를 낮추는 문제를 야기하고 있다. 이러한 문제점에 관하여 본 연구는 인터넷 정보는 인터넷에 접속하는 불특정다수에게 시간과 공간적 제약 없이 일률적으로 공개되어지는 특성 등에 따라서 공익 목적을 위하여 사용하는 물적 수단인 공물로 간주됨을 제시하였으며, 인터넷 부동산 정보의 신뢰도 제고를 위한 법적 개선 방안으로 중장기적인 관점에서 다양한 부동산 정보의 표준화를 시행해 나감으로써 부동산정보 상호 간의 호환성을 높일 수 있는 방안을 강구하면서, 부동산 포털사이트들의 부동산 정보제공 서비스에 대하여 현재 개별법에서 각각 따로 규정하고 있는 관련 규정을 통·폐합하여 하나의 단일화된 법률을 제정하는 방안을 검토할 것을 제안하였다.
