As a result of analysis to identify the status of the military reserve bordering Act and the following conclusions were drawn. First, establish a broad plan for the border region, and shall strengthen the review committee for the project evaluation. Second, in case the unification of business processes to be strengthened and the complaints of the border by the competent ministries responsible for effectively managing the military reserve and supply priority to underserved SOC. Thirdly relieve the locals of the Property shall be limited to compensation for the loss. Fourth shall have an alternative to efficiently manage the unification against the Demilitarized Zone. Finally, ensure better living conditions for residents of the settlements and military facilities as well should also be complemented by a review of the Act prospectively limiting the Pentagon to protect and control regulations and administrative bureau.

접경지원법과 군사시설보호구역의 실태를 파악하여 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째 접경지역에 대한 광역계획을 수립하고 사업평가를 위한 심의위원회를 강화하여야 한다. 둘째 통일을 대비하여 접경지역의 사업과 민원을 처리하고 군사시설보호구역을 효과적으로 관리하기 위한 소관부처별 책임을 강화하고 낙후된 SOC를 우선 공급하여야 한다. 셋째 지역주민들의 재산권 제한을 완화하고 손실에 대한 보상을 하여야 한다. 넷째 통일대비 비무장지대를 효율적으로 관리할 대안을 마련하여야 한다. 마지막으로 지역주민들의 정주여건을 살기좋게 보장하고 아울러 군사시설도 보호할 수 있는 국방부의 제한 및 통제규정과 행정관서의 지원법도 전향적으로 검토하여 보완하여야 한다.
