공용수용에 따른 공익사업의 인식을 분석한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공익사업의 범위에 대한 질문에 대해서는 공익사업의 범위를 규정하는 것보다 각 개별사업별로 공익사업에 해당하는지 여부를 판단할 수 있도록 규정하여야 한다. 둘째, 직업별로 보면 공공부문 직업의 경우 공익사업의 범위를 현재와 같이 동일하게 하는 것이 좋다는 의견이 기대빈도 보다 높게 나타났고, 연구소 및 대학교수들의 경우 현재 범위 보다 축소하여야 한다는 의견이 기대빈도 보다 높게 나타났으며, 부동산개발업 및 건설업 종사자의 경우 현재 보다 확대하여야 한다는 의견이 기대빈도 보다 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 공익사업 중 토지 등의 수용 또는 사용이 허용되는 사업시행 주체 범위에 대해서는 국가, 지방자치단체, 공기업 등의 공적주체가 토지수용권의 주체가 되어야 한다는 의견이 많은 것으로 나타났다.
