This paper aims to examine the implications of Donald Trump’s presidential election victory with regard to the global political economic system, and the foreign policy direction of the new administration in the United States. To this end, by analyzing the continuity and changes in post-Cold War US grand strategy, this paper reveals that the Trump administration will deploy a new Jacksonian foreign policy that deviates from the existing liberal consensus. Furthermore, this paper predicts the impact of Trump’s foreign policy on Northeast Asia and the Korean Peninsula, and, in conclusion, discusses the historical significance of Trump’s election victory on the future of the liberal world order as well as its implications with regard to Korea’s national strategy.

이 글은 도널드 트럼프의 대선 승리가 세계정치경제체제에 갖는 함의를 살펴보고 새 미국 행정부의 대외전략의 방향성을 탐구해보고자 한다. 이를 위해 탈냉전기 미국대전략의 연속성과 변화를 분석함으로써, 트럼프 행정부가 기존의 자유주의적 합의에서 이탈한 새로운 잭슨주의적 대외정책을 구사할 것이라는 점을 밝힌다. 나아가 트럼프 의 외교정책이 동북아 지역과 한반도에 끼칠 영향을 예측한 후, 결론적으로 트럼프 당선이 자유세계질서의 미래에 대해 갖는 시대적 의미와 한국의 국가전략에 대한 함의에 대해 논의한다.
