This study examines the services provided by the elderly welfare center in Korea, which have entered the aged society since 2017. And it suggests future direction of development. In order to present the direction of development, I surveyed three cases in Germany, Sweden, and Japan and conducted In-depth Interviews with 12 elderly people. According to the interviews and case studies, first, it is necessary to make people participate in many programs, secondly, it should be made that the welfare centers are not used only by elderly people, third, elderly people should be provided with program to participate in self, it is important. Currently, Welfare Centers are applying different programs in different regions, so it is a limitation of this study that I do not know how the program is going on. In future research, it is necessary to investigate cases in Korea and specific programs that can be applied to local characteristics and common without regional difference.

이 연구는 2017년부터 고령사회에 진입한 우리나라의 국내 노인복지시설, 특히 경로당이 어떠한 서비스를 제공하고 있는지 알아보고 차후 발전 방향을 제시하였다. 발전 방향 제시를 위해서 독일, 스웨덴, 일본, 3곳의 사례를 조사하였고 12명의 고령층을 대상으로 심층인터뷰를 진행하였다. 심층인터뷰와 사례조사에 따르면 첫째, 많은 프로그램으로 사람들이 많이 참여할 수 있도록 하는 것, 둘째, 경로당이 결코 나이가 많은 노인들만 이용하는 곳이 아니라는 분위기로 만들어야 한다는 것, 셋째, 노인들이 스스로 사회에 참여하고 자립할 수 있도록 프로그램을 제공하는 것이 중요하다. 현재 경로당은 지역별로 다른 프로그램을 적용하고 있어 어떤 방식으로 프로그램이 진행되는지 알지 못했다는 점이 이 연구의 한계점이다. 향후 연구에서는 국내의 경로당 사례를 조사하여 국내의 특성에 맞고 지역 차이 없이 공통으로 진행될 수 있는 프로그램의 구체적인 제안이 필요하다.
