Journal of the International Network for Korean Language and Culture 15-1 , This study aims to understand the content of education for immigrants in a specific Korean textbook targeting immigrants. Thus, the study analysed the domestic research about the course, curriculum, and textbook of the Korea Immigration & Integration Program (KIIP), at the Ministry of Justice. With regard to research about KIIP, the result of the analysis showed that, the number of studies to do with checking and improving actural policy conditions was greater than the number of studies about the content of the education. In addition, it was revealed that the curriculum of KIIP should have more specialization than now, according to the traits and needs of the immigrants. Moreover, although the KIIP textbook considered the situation of using the immigrants’ own language with respect to the topic, it was verified that other aspects of cultural content, and those the language used were not specific to immigrants. Thus, the study checked the link between the curriculum of a specific Korean course and textbook. Because of this study, there is expected to be a higher validity in the content of education in the Korean textbook for immigrants.(Yeungnam University, Honam University, Wonkwang Digital University, Daegu Catholic University)

이 연구의 목적은 이민자를 대상으로 한 특수 목적 한국어 교재에서 교육 내용을 파악하고 교육과정과 교재를 분석함으로써, 이민자를 위한 한국어교육의 내용 선정 및 개발에 대한 시사점을 얻는 데 있다. 법무부의 사회통합프로그램(KIIP)은 국내 이민자 특수 교육프로그램이다. 본고는 KIIP를 대상으로 한 연구 상황, KIIP의 교육과정, KIIP 교재의 긴밀성을 집중적으로 점검하는 총체적 과정을 통해, 이민자용 한국어 교육의 내용 타당성을 제고하고자 하였다. 그간 KIIP에 대한 연구는 교육 내용에 대한 것보다 정책 실태 점검과 개선에 대한 연구가 더 많았다. 그리고 KIIP의 교육과정은 이민자의 유형별 특성과 언어 사용영역에 따라 현재보다 더 상세화되어야 한다는 사실이 드러났다. KIIP 교재는 주제 범주에서 이민자의 언어 사용 상황을 고려하였으나, 그 밖의 문화 범주, 언어 기술 항목에서는 이민자에게 특화되지 않은 부분이 있어 개선이 필요한 것으로 확인되었다. 특수 목적 한국어 과정의 교육과정과 교재 긴밀성을 점검하는 연구를 통해, 이민자를 대상으로 하는 한국어 교재에서 교육 내용의 타당도가 더욱 높아지기를 기대한다.
