Characteristics of Historical Experience in Korean Chinese long epic poetry This paper examined three aspects of historial experiences and characteristics in Korean Chinese long epic poetry. Stories of lives and development of early migrants in Manchuria are about the history of hardship and suffering of Korean migrants start to flow in since the 19th century. It shows the origin and formation of Korean Chinese by presenting motive and historical background of Korean Chinese in Yanbian migrating to Manchuria. Description of anti-Japan armed struggle and association with Chinese Communist party clearly show the artistic characteristics of socialism in Korean Chinese long epic poetry. Koreans who settled in Manchuria imbued themselves with anti-Japan awareness under the double oppression of bureaucracy and Japanese regime, and participated in anti-Japan struggle claiming anti-imperialism and anti-bureaucracy; the circumstance and changes in Manchuria during 1930s and 40s are described in detail in the pieces. Lastly, Korean Chinese long epic poetry expresses the emotion of the race and wish for life as a community. It is because historial experience of the past is a product of 'mass memory' that forms and reproduces 'a world that was' instead of 'a world that should be' and reflects innate emotions and awareness of the race in the pieces. Therefore, in the premise of different race and country, Korean Chinese long epic poetry maintain its originality and identity is a significant historical evidence that reflects unique political and social circumstances and living as a minority group in China and a significant cultural record.

본 논문은 중국조선족 장편서사시에 담긴 역사적 체험 양상과 특성을 세 가지로 나누어 살펴보았다. 먼저 이주 초기 유이민적 삶과 만주지역 개척에 관한 이야기에는 19세기에 들어와 본격적으로 유입되기 시작한 이주 조선인들의 고달픈 삶과 고난의 역사가 담겨져 있다. 이는 연변 조선족들이 과거 어떠한 동기와 배경으로 이곳 만주지역에 이주해 왔는지를 우리 민족의 수난사와 개척사를 통해 구체적으로 보여줌으로써 이주민족인 조선족의 기원과 형성과정을 드러내 주고 있다. 다음 항일무장 투쟁 및 중국 공산당과의 연계 내용은 중국 조선족 장편서사시가 정치적 투쟁의 수단화 즉 사회주의 문학방식에 의한 당위적 장르로서 갖는 특성을 가장 극명하게 보여준다. 만주지역에 정착한 이주 한인들이 봉건관료와 일제라는 이중의 압박과 수탈 속에서 항일의식을 고취하고 반제반봉건 타도를 외치며 항일투쟁에 참여하게 되는 과정이 1930-40년대 만주지역의 정세 변화 속에서 상세히 그려져 있다.끝으로 조선족 장편 서사시에는 민족적 정서 표출과 공동체적 삶에 대한 갈망이 담겨있다. 앞서 살펴본 바와 같이 장편서사시에는 사회주의적 혁명 완성과 이상실현이라는 당위적 장르로서의 주제의식만 있는 것이 아니라 민족적 정서를 바탕으로 한 공동체적 동질감과 민족의식이 내재되어 있음을 알 수 있다. 이는 과거의 역사적 체험이란 ‘있어야 할 세계’ 이전에 ‘있었던 세계’를 형성하고 재현하는 ‘집단기억’의 산물로서 이들의 작품에는 사회주의적 이데올로기의 고무 찬양적 내용과 함께 민족의 고유한 정서와 의식이 반영되어 있는 것이다. 따라서 상이한 민족과 국가라는 전제 속에서 자신들의 독자성과 정체성을 지속해오고 있는 이들에게 조선족 장편서사시는 중국 내 소수민족이라는 자신들의 정치사회적 특수한 상황과 생활상을 반영하는 역사의 증거물이자 문화적 기록물로서 의의가 있다.
