For many people, work these days is much more than just a way to earn money. Some identify through work, some seem to even forget about their-free time. Additionally, work might not have the same role for people in different cultures and free-time might also not be equally important. Therefore, this study explores the concept of the work-life balance and considers two stereotypically very different countries (Austria and South Korea). With a standardized survey, the goal is to find out how expectations of students on their work-life balance diverge. Hopefully, this sheds light on the differences of the respective cultures. The originality of the study is the combination of the selected countries with the comprehensive literature research and the results of the questionnaire. The survey is still in progress, therefore, the findings cannot be evaluated yet.
