We researched the movements and home range of Gloydius ussuriensis inhabiting Gapa-islet of Jeju Island by mark-recapture method from Jun 2006 to Jun 2008. Gapa-islet lies 2.2 km off the coast of the Moseulpo in south-western Jeju Island, Korea. The island is 0.84 ㎢ in overall size and mainly consists of cultivated land excluding grassland of eastern and western rims and residental area of southern and northern rims. The research area was limited to grassland of western rims. We catched 106 snakes and released them at their initial capture location after marking. Fifteen snakes of them were recaptured and the recapture rate was 14 %. Recaptured individuals over twice were 6 snakes (twice 5, three times 1). Movements distance was very short (3-44m) through the whole year and home range was also very small size (12-126㎡). As the results of, Gloydius ussuriensis inhabiting Gapa-islet revealed very strong sedentary snake.
