Preacher, as a minister of the new covenant, should pursue the listeners’ transformed lives as an object of sermon in light of biblical theology of preaching. Furthermore, it is necessary for preacher to seek the ultimate purpose of sermon―the transformed lives of the audience for the glory of God. The biblical preaching is to lead the new covenant people to be transformed into the same image of Christ by beholding the glory of the Lord in the illumination of the Holy Spirit. With this main thesis in mind, the researcher, foremost, intends to briefly evaluate some significant homileticians’ perspectives on the purpose of sermon with regard to the definition(philosophy) of preaching and its biblical foundation. Having considered the view-point of homileticians, the second chapter is to investigate the key principles of biblical preaching aiming at the listener’s transformation for the glory of God. In order to fulfil it, this study focuses on an exegetical analysis of 2 Corinthians 3:18(containing the terminology of μεταμορφούμεθα) in the context of 2 Corinthians 3-4. On the basis of the exegetical and theolocial insights, the researcher is to suggest seven homiletical implications.

본 논문의 중심논지는 다음과 같다. 새 언약의 일꾼으로 부름 받은 설교자는 성경적 설교신학을 통해 설교의 목표로서 새 언약 백성인 성도들의 변혁을 추구하고, 나아가 회중들이 성령의 조명하심과 새 창조의 빛을 통해 주의 영광을 봄으로 그리스도의 형상을 닮아가는 변화를 통해 삼위 하나님께 영광을 돌리는 것을 설교의 궁극적인 목적으로 추구해야 한다. 이러한 중심논지를 중추에 두고, 본고는 먼저 주요 설교학자들의 설교이론에 있어서 설교의 목적을 어디에 정초하고 있는지 간략히 살펴보고자 한다. 그런 다음 본 논문은 성경에 뿌리를 둔 설교신학 위에서, 설교의 목표로서 청중의 변화와 궁극적 목적으로서 하나님의 영광을 추구하기 위한 성경적인 원리를 집중적으로 고찰해 보고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구자는 ‘변화’(μεταμορφούμεθα)라는 성경적 용어(개념)가 사용되고 있는 고린도후서 3장 18절을 고린도후서 3-4장의 컨텍스트 속에서 주해적으로 분석을 한 다음, 그 설교신학적 함의를 일곱 명제로 나누어 제시해 보고자 한다.
