An accident occurred on December 7, 2007 in waters off Taeanhaean National Park, where oil tanker Hebei Sprite was accidentally leaked by about 12,547 ㎘ of crude oil. As part of the long-term monitoring project, the Research Institute of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration conducted a survey of the proposed coastline by applying the proposed coastline to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and focused on visual observations. As a result of investigation, the area of coverage area exceeding 10% of total survey area decreased from 69.21% in 2008 to 0% in 2014, and the area showing 1~10% area ratio also decreased from 17.61% in 2008 to 4.13% in 2016 Respectively. No residual oil was found in the northern part of the Taean coastal national park, where the coastline is composed of sand, since 2015, and residual oil was present in the form of hardened tar in special island coastal rocky areas. 2007년 12월 7일 태안해안국립공원 해역에서 유조선 허베이 스피리트호에 의해 원유 12,547 ㎘가 유출되 는 사고가 발생하였다. 본 연구는 장기모니터링 사업의 일환으로 미국 국립해양대기청에서 제안한 해안선 조사법을 적용하여 도보로 이동하면서 육안관찰을 중심으로 조사하였다. 조사결과 전체 조사지역중 피복면적의 면적비가 10% 를 초과한 지역은 2008년 69.21%에서 2014년 0%로 감소하였으며, 1~10% 면적비를 보인 지역 또한 2008년 17.61%에서 2016년 4.13%로 감소하였다. 해안선이 모래로 이루어진 태안해안국립공원 북부지역은 2015년 이후 잔 존유류가 발견되지 않았으며, 해안암반지역인 특정도서의 경우 잔존유류가 경질화된 타르의 형태로 존재하였다. 장 기적인 해안선 잔존유류 변화는 조사한 지역의 환경특징에 따라 잔존형태 및 잔류기간이 서로 상이하게 나타났다.
