In this research, based on new facts discovered in the 21st century about the Wasan,, an attempt to try to try and fix the wrongly understood parts and to improve the understanding of Wasan through newly known facts. From the viewpoint of the researcher, I will also present examples of Ford Circles as well as the Kyokugyo-Jutsu that has not yet been introduced in Korea. In recent years, the major trend in research on the Wasan can be said to be an investigation of the mathematical facts by mathematicians and the theory of the Christian origin of early Wasan. The mathematically exaggerated and wrongly evaluated contents are correctly positioned　by the former., especially the contents concerning the determinant and the resultant by Seki Takakazu, which are newly in the spotlight and have been reevaluated. The publication of various books which interpreted books of Wasan as modern mathematics has become popular. It seems that the theory of Christian origin of the latter is calm to a certain extent. Therefore, the possibility of transition to the study of how early Wasan was influenced by Western mathematics has increased. There is a case where the book of Wasan does not present a proof, and the detailed proof is not written in the book which is described in the original book. Such a tendency is the biggest factor which can be said to contribute to a lack of attention to mathematical logic. However, on the contrary, it can be said that such mathematical ambiguity could be a power that could produce many aged researchers at that time.

이 연구에서는 21세기 들어 와산(和算)에 대하여 새롭게 알려진 사실을 토대로 지금까지 잘못 알려진 부분은 바로잡고, 새로운 사실들을 통하여 와산의 이해도를 높이고자 한다. 그리고 서 양 수학의 Ford Circles을 통하여 연구자의 관점에서 산각(算額) 문제를 살펴보고 국내에서는 아 직 소개가 되지 않은 것으로 보이는 하세가와히로시(長谷川寛)가 고안한 극형술에 대한 내용도 그 예를 통하여 제시하고자 한다. 근래의 와산에 대한 연구의 큰 줄기는 정통 수학전공자들에 의한 수학적 사실의 검토와 초기 와산의 Christian 기원설이라고 말할 수 있다. 전자에 의해 수 학적으로 부풀려져있던 내용들과 잘못 평가된 내용들이 그 자리를 잡아가고 있다. 특히 세키 다카카즈(関孝和)의 행렬식과 종결식에 관한 내용들은 새롭게 조명을 받고 있다. 그리고 와산의 책을 현대의 수학으로 해석한 책들의 출판이 빈번해졌다. 후자인 와산의 Christian 기원설은 어 느 정도 그 자리를 잡은 것으로 보이고 있다. 따라서 초기 와산이 서양 수학으로부터 어느 정도 의 영향을 받았는지에 대한 연구로 전이될 가능성이 높아졌다. 와산책들은 증명을 제시하고 있 지 않은 경우가 허다하고, 원래의 책을 해설한 책에서도 구체적인 증명은 잘 보이지 않는다. 이 러한 경향이 와산은 수학적 논리를 그다지 중시하지 않고 있다고 말할 수 있는 가장 큰 요인이 다. 그러나 모순적으로, 오히려 이러한 수학적 애매함이 당시의 많은 와산연구자들을 배출할 수 있었던 하나의 동력이라 생각할 수 있다.

本研究は、21世紀に入り和算について新たに明らかになった事実をもとにこれまで間違って 知られている部分は直し、新しい事実を通じて和算に対する理解を高めようとするものであ る。そして, 西洋数学のフォードの円を通じて研究者の視点から算額問題の事例の紹介と、 国内ではまだ紹介されていないと思われる極形術についてもその事例を提示する。近年の和 算に対する研究の大きな流れは数学専攻者による数学的事実の検討と初期和算のキリシタ ン起源説である。前者によって数学的に誇張された内容と間違って評価された内容が正しく 位置づけられている。特に関孝和の行列式と終結式に関する内容は新たに脚光を浴びてお り、再評価されるようになった。そして和算の本を現代の数学で解釈した諸本の出版が盛ん になった。後者の和算のキリシタン起源説はある程度落ち着いたように見える。したがって、 初期和算が西洋数学からどの位の影響を受けたのかについての研究に転移する可能性が 高まった。和算本は証明を提示していない場合があまた存在し、元の本を解説した本にも具 体的な証明は詳細に書かれていない。このような傾向が和算は数学的論理をあまり重視して いないと言われる最大の要因である。しかし、矛盾的に, このような数学的曖昧さが当時の 多くの和算研究者を輩出することができた一つの動力となり得たとも言えるのである。
