This study examines implications of inter-Korean intercultural sensitivity to unification education with a focus on the concept of intercultural sensitivity after addressing limitations in the concepts of multicultural acceptance and multicultural sensitivity. Education for enhancing inter-Korean intercultural sensitivity is able to incorporate both South and North Korean perspectives not unilaterally but bilaterally, upgrade the quality of unification education from the ethnocentric approach to the ethnorelative approach, differentiate educational methods based on the developmental stages of an individual’s intercultural sensitivity, and implement effective unification education practices by emphasizing cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects in intercultural sensitivity.

본 논문은 다문화 수용성과 다문화 감수성 개념의 한계를 논의하고, 문화간 감수성의 통일교육적 함의는 남북한 문화간 감수성의 함양에 있음을 논한다. 남북한 문화간 감수성 함양을 위한 교육은 통일교육을 일방의 관점이 아니라 쌍방의 관점에서 접근할 것을 강조하며, 자민족중심적인 접근에서 민족상대주의적 접근으로의 질적인 변화를 가져올 수 있으며, 문화간 감수성의 발달 단계에 따라 차별화된 통일교육을 가능하게 하며, 인지적, 정의적, 행동적 요소의 강조를 통하여 통일교육의 내실화를 가능하게 할 수 있다.
