This study aims to identify the influence of maternal attachment on postpartum blues with self-esteem as a mediating variable. A statistical analysis of the subjects’ responses estimated the level of mother-child attachment to be 89.78±13.74 points, postpartum blues to be 48.01±11.85 points, and self-respect to be 30.19±4.71 points. A correlation coefficient between maternal attachment and postpartum blues was found to be -0.325, indicating a medium-level negative correlation that is statistically significant at a 99% confidence level. Third, the Sobel test revealed a significant mediating effect of self-respect in the effects of mother-child attachment on Postpartum Blues (z=-2.478, p<.001). As mothers experiencing postpartum blues tend to have difficulty in forming the mother-child attachment relationship, they must be diagnosed and provided with support as early as possible.
