The reason “anger” as “affect-related” appeared in the proletarian literature of the 1920s and 30s is because it is produced and published by proletarian writers. In particular, this movement evolved in dialectic relation to the theory of proletarian literature. Based on the period, Kim Gi-jin’s Revolutionizing Senators, Park Young-hee’s Infeasible, and Im Hwa’s The Shape of Ideology, all both naturally generated and personally expressed anger. However, as the tragic life of the main character brings sympathy to the novel, and the anger is relieved at the end of the novel, readers feel a sense of frustration instead of anger. On the other hand, Lee's 'hometown' drew sympathy from readers about the anger of the characters as the circumstances of the novel overlap with those of the novel. The aspect of this shift in anger in proletarian literature and in its movement in the 1920s and 30s was a display of the evolutionary diagram leading to class revolution.

1920~30년대 프로문학에서 ‘정동(affect)’으로서의 ‘분노’가 자주 등장하는 이유는 프로문학자들이 소설을 사용해서 분노를(재)생산하고 관리하려고 했기 때문이다. 이러한 움직임은 특히 프로문학 이론과의 상관성 속에서 변증법적으로 진화하였다. 시기별로 보자면 김기진의 ‘감각의 변혁’, 박영 희의 ‘감정의 전염’, 임화의 ‘이념의 형상’과의 상관관계 속에서, 자연발생 적이고 개인적인 분노가 표출되는 신경향파 소설, 목적의식적이고 집단적 인 분노가 드러나는 공장소설, 분노의 힘을 매개로 개인의 삶과 사회의 모순을 개선해 나가는 이기영의 『고향』 등이 순차적으로 발표되었다. 하지만 신경향파 소설은 주인공의 비극적인 삶이 분노보다는 동정을 불러 왔고, 공장소설은 소설의 결말 부분에서 분노가 해소되면서 분노는 통쾌 로 전이되었다. 반면 이기영의 『고향』은 소설 속 상황과 소설 밖의 상황 이 겹쳐지면서 등장인물들의 분노는 한층 더 공감을 이끌어냈다. 이와 같은 긍정적인 변화는 프로문학자들이 분노를 매개로 계급혁명으로 나아가 는 점진적인 방식을 모색하여 얻은 중요한 성과였다.
