In 1907, a great spiritual awakening that could go down in Korean history of church was generated in Pyengyang. After about twenty years, a similar spiritual awakening appeared and continued in Pyengyang for three years and this course of three years was controled by a committee. It is important that the participants in both 1907 and 1928 revival movements was overlapped fairly. This fact makes us anticipate there were some common features and planned supplements between 1907 and 1928. This study treats prepared prayer and efforts in Pyeongyang revival movement and providence of God that transcend human plans. And it refers the growth of church. Furthermore, it indicates that Pyeongyang revival movement generate devangelistic movement through a spiritual awakening but had no sign of a social movement.

1907년에 평양에서는 한국교회사에 한 획을 그을만한 영적 대각성이일어났다. 20년가량 지난 후 평양에서는 유사한 영적각성이 3년 동안 일어났고, 3년의 과정은 위원회에 의해 계획적으로 관리되었다. 중요한 것은1907년과 1928년의 부흥운동의 참여인물들은 상당부분 중첩되었다는 것이다. 이러한 사실은 1907년과 1928년 사이에 공통점과 계획적 보완이 있었을 것을 예상하게 한다. 이 연구는 평양부흥 당시의 예비적 기도와 노력에 담긴 계획과 그것을넘는 하나님의 섭리를 다룬다. 또한 결과로서 교회성장을 언급한다. 더 나아가 평양부흥운동이 영적각성을 통한 전도운동을 일으켜 교회성장은 이루었으나 분명한 사회운동의 흔적은 없음도 지적한다.
