The purpose of this study is to determine the direction of the local architecture award and to expand the understanding of local identity and regionality by analyzing user’s cognition characteristics of the regionality in local architecture award-winning works. A questionnaire survey was conducted on the appropriateness and regionality expression factors of the 16 works received the Grand Prize and the Gold Prize in the Busan Architecture Award for the residents of Busan area and other areas. The responses of questionnaires are extracted by natural-language vocabulary, and classified into descriptive vocabulary and architectural vocabulary. Cross-comparisons of response characteristics of each building and response characteristics of each vocabulary are examined. As a result, Busan residents' cognition characteristics of the regionality can be classified into the following four categories: Practical architecture with familiarity, simple and terrestrial conformity that is related to the image of a people city; Landmark architecture representing a new and famous area associated with the image of a film and culture city; A beautiful, clean, white architecture harmonized with the ocean associated with the image of a maritime city; A harmonious and person-smelling architecture with the surrounding nature associated with the image of tourist city.

본 논문의 목적은 지역 건축상이 나아갈 방향을 정하는데 도움을 주고 지역 정체성, 지역성에 대한 이해를 확장하기 위해 건축 이용자들인 지역 주민들을 대상으로 하여 지역 건축상의 적절성과 지역성에 대한 인식 특성을 확인하고자 하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 부산지역 주민 및 타 지역 주민을 대상으로 지역 건축상인‘부산다운 건축상’에서 대상, 금상을 받은 16개 작품에 대한 수상 적절성과 지역성 요소로 인식하는 부분에 대한 설문을 실시한 후 회수된 설문지의 응답내용을 자연어 어휘로 추출하고 서술어휘와 건축어휘로 나누어 분류한 다음 다빈도 어휘와 특정 거주자에게서 집중적으로 나타나는 어휘를 분석하여 이용자들의 지역성 인식 범주와 빈도 특성을 확인한다. 다음으로 분석내용을 부산지역 주민과 타지역 주민으로 나누어 종합하여 건축상 수상작품에 나타나는 지역성에 대한 이용자들의 인식 특성을 알아본다.
