By using a vast dataset of World Input-output Tables sponsored by OECD, the present study is to analyse the evolution of Korean economy’s trade structure with China and to estimate its effects on labor employment in Korea between 2000 and 2014. It finds that: first, the structure of Korea’s trade with China has been established in a increasingly vulnerable shape; second, although the Korean economy has enjoyed positive employment effects from trade with China, the beneficial effects have been distributed unevenly with extreme across industries; finally, among the factors which has led to the change in the induced employment, the quantitative factor represented massive trade surplus from China has been positive and overwhelmed the qualitative factors such as changes in coefficients of employment and input which have sometimes showed negative effects on Korean employment, resulting in a positive total effect. These findings suggests some policy implication which are discussed in this study.

본 연구는 우리나라의 대중국 무역구조를 분석하고, 그것이 고용에 미친 영향을 분석하는 것 을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 과련 연구분야에서 아직 사용된 적이 없는 2000년에서 2014년까지의 국제투입산출표(World Input-Output Tables) 데이터베이스를 사용한다. 분석결과 다음과 같은 결론은 도출하였다. 첫째, 한국경제의 대중국 무역은 매우 취약한 구조가 형성되었고, 이러한 특 징은 시간이 지남에 따라 강화되고 있다고 할 수 있다. 둘째, 한국의 대중국의 무역이 흑자를 지속함에 따라 국내 고용에도 긍정적 효과를 미친 것은 사실이지만, 산업별로 매우 불균등하게 분포되어 있다. 셋째, 대중국 무역이 한국의 고용에 미친 효과를 세 가지 요인(취업계수의 변화, 투입계수의 변화, 순수출의 변화)으로 분해하여 분석할 때, 양적변화(순수출)의 효과가 질적변화 (취업계수 및 투입계수)의 효과를 크게 압도한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는, 한국경제가 부상하는 중국경제로부터 유발되는 긍정적 고용효과를 극대화하고 위해서는 다음과 같은 과제 를 해결해야 함을 함축한다. 첫째, 한국경제 전체 차원에서 대중국 무역 의존도를 완화해야 한 다. 둘째, 대중국 무역의 특정산업 편중현상을 개선해야 할 것이다.
