In this research, it was examined what practical knowledge pre-service elementary school teachers experienced through P.E. class in a small-sized school in farming and fishing communities, and the research subjects were 15 juniors in D teachers' college who experienced P.E. class in a small-sized school in farming and fishing communities. First, among the knowledge of self, the themes expressed regarding motivation were the challenge to the first class, the high possibility of becoming a teacher with full responsibility, reflection of students' opinions, and the connection to college classes, and regarding the view on education, those were found to be responsibility for safety management, students' guaranteed right to learn, teaching basic functions, and character education. Second, as for the knowledge of the milieu of schooling, they were turned out to be active restructuring of curriculum, and contrary sports facilities and equipments. Third, with respect to the knowledge of curriculum, those were the furnishing and expansion of sports facilities and equipments, measures for classes with a small number of students, and connection to after-school classes. Fourth, regarding the knowledge of subject matter, they were found to be the understanding of the contents to teach, grasping students' actual condition, and consideration for required teaching contents. Fifth, as for the knowledge of instruction, those were the difficulties in activities for each level and preparations and unique teaching and learning methods. This practical knowledge had the image of static increase in the structure, that of partially static increase, and that of mutual contradiction. Through the study results above, the pre-service teachers could come to understand how P.E. teachers' practical knowledge had been formed, and what efforts were necessary for its application. Yet, as teaching know-how or practical knowledge of class isn't formed in a short period of time, teacher training institutions have to establish many joint teaching practice organizations with the field for specific experiences and tangible feedback, and the schools for teaching practice where negative experiences can be prevented must be selected.

본 연구는 초등 예비교사들이 농어촌 소규모 학교의 체육수업에서 실천적 지식을 어떻게 경험하는지에 대한 탐구로, 농어촌 소규모 학교에서 체육수업을 경험한 D교육대학교 3학년 15명을 연구참여자로 하였다. 첫째, 교사 자신에 대한 지식 중 동기에서 나타난 주제는 첫 수업 도전, 전담교사 가능성 多, 학생 의견 반영, 대학수업과의 연계로 나타났고, 교육관에서는 안전관리 책임, 학생 학습권 보장, 기초기능 지도, 인성교육 지도로 나타났다. 둘째, 교수·학습 환경 지식에서는 왕성한 교육과정 재구성, 상반된 체육시설 및 용구로 나타났다. 셋째, 교육과정 지식에서는 체육시설 및 용·기구 구비·확충, 소인수 수업에 대한 대책, 방과후 교실과의 연계로 나타났다. 넷째, 교과 내용 지식은 수업 내용 이해, 학생 실태 파악, 필수 지도내용 고려로 나타났다. 다섯째, 교수·학습 지식은 수준별 활동 및 대비책 어려움, 독특한 교수·학습 방법으로 나타났다. 이러한 실천적 지식은 구조에서 정적 상승 작용하는 이미지, 부분적으로 정적 상승작용 이미지, 서로 상충 작용하는 이미지가 있었다. 이상의 연구결과를 통해 예비교사들은 체육수업을 하는 교사의 실천적 지식은 어떻게 형성되고, 이를 적용하기 위해서는 어떠한 노력을 해야 하는지에 대해 이해하게 되었다. 하지만 수업 노하우나 수업에 대한 실천적 지식은 단기간에 형성되는 것이 아니기 때문에 교사교육기관에서 구체적인 경험과 실질적인 피드백을 해줄 수 있는 현장과의 교육실습 공동기구가 많이 마련되어야겠다.
