The study aimed at suggesting a methodology for establishing future strategies for Korean oil chemistry industry. In addition to the method of utilizing the statistical model and the statistical data, the research conducted the analysis of the three factors, including the trends in international oil prices, Chinese economy market, and advanced technology development. There are four significant scenarios that are based on this. In addition, in each scenario, a matching measure is presented in a win-win strategy, and countermeasures for each scenario are differentiated by a contingency plan divided by the consensus plan. This study suggests frameworks and processes of scenario analysis that can be used as a basis for establishing industry - specific policies and future strategies of companies.

본 연구는 우리나라 석유화학산업의 미래 전략을 수립하는 방법론을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구방법으로 정태적인 모델이나 통계데이터를 활용하는 방식이 아니라, 문헌조사와 함께 STEPPER분석기법을 활용하여 기존연구의 국내 업계, 학계, 연구계 등 대표적인 전문가들을 대상으로 한 설문조사를 바탕으로 도출된 미래이슈 등을 기반으로 한국 석유화학산업의 미래 시나리오를 다각도로 구성하였다. 미래에도 적용 가능한 변화요인으로 국제유가 변화, 중국경제 전망 및 미래핵심소재 개발 등 3개 요인을 확정하였고 이를 기반으로 유의미한 4가지 시나리오를 구성하였다. 아울러 시나리오 별로 특징적인 대응방안을 제시하면서 모든 시나리오에서 공통적인 대응방안은 우월전략으로 각 시나리오별로 차별화된 대응방안은 컨틴전시 플랜으로 구분하여 제시하였다. 본 연구는 각 산업별 정책 및 기업의 미래전략을 수립하는데 기반이 될 수 있는 시나리오 분석의 프레임과 프로세스를 제시하여 향후 다양한 산업들에 적용 가능한 시사점을 도출 할 수 있을 것이다.
