Yoo Il-Han, who was a founder of Yuhan corporation, has been one of most respected CEOs in Korea. There are more studies on Yoo Il-Han than on other CEOs and many researchers has analyzed him continuously until now. However, most of those studies have focused on social responsibility, corporate ethics, management philosophy or business creed of Yoo Il-han. Even though Yoo Il-Han made great contribution to social work and eduction areas in Korea and was a fighter for Korea independence, his main role was a CEO of pharmaceutical company. The studies on his business leadership have not been much. This study is to analyze his business leadership as a corporate CEO. His leadership is analyzed from the viewpoint of leadership trait approach, transformational leadership, self- and superleadership, self-sacrificial leadership and strategic leadership. Finally, future directions and limitations of this study were suggested.

유일한 박사는 우리 나라에서 가장 존경받는 경영자 가운데 한 분이다. 유일한 박사에 대한 연구는 다른 경영자들에 비해 상당히 많이 이루어졌으며 최근까지도 이어져오고 있다고 할 수 있다. 그러나, 유일한 박사에 대한 연구의 초점이 사회적 책임이나 기업윤리 등과 관련되거나 경영이념 또는 경영철학 등에 맞추어진 경향이 있다. 오히려 기업가인 경영자로서의 측면은 상대적으로 연구가 적게 이루어진 경향이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 경영자로서의 유일한 박사의 리더십에 대해 분석하고자 하였다. 유일한 박사에 대해 리더의 특성의 관점, 변혁적 리더십의 관점, 셀프 및 수퍼 리더십 관점, 자기희생적 리더십 관점, 전략적 리더십 관점 등에서 검토하였다. 마지막으로 연구의 시사점과 한계점을 언급하였다.
