This paper is mainly designed to analyze light verbs (make, take, get) in terms of frequency and a variety of collocation types based on three corpora. The corpora are composed of a nonnative learner corpus(Pusan University Learner Corpus, PULC) and two native learner corpora(British University Learner Corpus, BULC, and American University Learner Corpus, AULC). In detail, PULC consists of 96,052 words, BULC includes 95,467 words and AULC has 96,787 words. A corpus analysis program, WordSmith Tools 6.0 is utilized to extract proper materials from the corpora. The result of the analysis shows that 1) from a perspective of frequency, make is the most frequently used verb and the frequency order of the other two verbs is slightly different among corpora; 2) among a range of collocation patterns, the most frequent pattern is ‘verb + noun’ pattern and the relative frequency of the other patterns is to some extent different among corpora
