The paper analyze the factors that affect farmers ' participation in the sixth industry in Gyeongbuk Province. First, overall 61.83 percent(115 people) were engaged in activities other than those related to the 6th industry. Second, a survey of farmers on their perceptions of the sixth sector revealed that only 59 percent(110 people) of them know about the sixth industry in the agriculture sector. A survey of willingness to participate in the sixth sector revealed that 150 people, or 81 percent in total, were willing to participate in the sixth sector. Third, the study on the relevance of rural tourism resources to the 6th industry showed that rural tourism resources help to boost the 6th industry. Fourth, the variables that significantly affect farmers ’ participation in the 6th industry were age, family size, and gender. As a result, the older the people are, the larger the family size, and the more men are willing to participate in the sixth industry.

이 논문에서는 경북지역 6차 산업에 관련된 농업인의 인식과 참여의향, 그리고 참여에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하였다. 첫째, 농업생산 이외의 다른 여타 활동을 수행하는가에 대한 조사에서, 전체 61.83%인 115명은 6차 산업 관련 이외의 활동들을수행하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 농업인을 대상으로 6차 산업에 대한 인지도를조사한 결과, 전체 59%인 110명만이 농업부문 6차 산업을 알고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 6차 산업 참여의향을 조사한 결과는 전체 81%인 150명이 농업부문 6차 산업에 참여할 의향이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 농촌관광자원과 6차 산업의 관련성을검토한 결과 농촌관광자원이 6차 산업 활성화에 도움이 된다가 106명으로 가장 높게나타났고, 보통이다가 39명, 매우 도움이 된다가 33명의 순으로 나타났다. 넷째, 농업인의 6차 산업 참여에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 변수로는 연령, 가족 수, 성별 등으로나타났다. 따라서 연령이 높을수록, 가족 수가 많을수록, 남성일수록 6차 산업에 대한참여의향이 높은 것으로 나타났다.
