The purpose of this research is discovering the cultural tourism contents from tales of woman divers living in Busan. We recorded personal life histories of 14 women divers from different districts in Busan. Busan was a bridgehead for women divers from Jeju to expand their work place in mainland. Therefore most recorded stories more or less is including tales of their settling in their present living places. We found that intangible cultural contents such as ‘the lyrics sung by women divers’ and their ‘folk beliefs’ are now fading away from Busan. Tangible cultural contents such as ‘Bulteok’ (a place for taking rest and warming body) also is not seen in Busan anymore. But we suggest to use the concept of ‘Bulteok’ tradition in the form of ‘changing room’ or ‘community center’ for women divers. Further more, we expect these facilities to carry out a role of places sharing their ‘stories’ with the public. Women divers in Bausn want direct sales of their products to the consumers, and distribution channels and shopping facilities for that.

본 연구는 부산지역 해녀를 활용한 문화관광 콘텐츠 발굴을 위한 질적 연구로, 부산지역의 해녀 14명을 대상으로 생애사를 채록하였다. 14명의 해녀들은 전·현직 해녀회장 및 해녀조직의 리더 역할을 수행하고 있고, 50년 이상 마을에서 살고 있으며, 어촌계와 지역 해녀들과의 관계를 중재하고 있었다. 본 연구에서는 해녀문화 관련 콘텐츠 중에서 ‘해녀노래와 민속신앙’등의 무형 콘텐츠가 부산에서는 사라져 가고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 유형 콘텐츠인 ‘불턱’ 도 현재 부산에서는 그 모습을 찾아 볼 수 없는데, 과거의 불턱은 현재의 ‘해녀탈의실/해녀복지회관’등으로 변신 시켜서 해녀문화를 공유할 수 있는 공간으로 스토리화를 기대 할 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 부산해녀들은 본인들이 채취해온 수산물을 직접 소비자들에게 유통 시킬 수 있는 방법 및 수산물 판매센터 등을 필요로 하고 있었다. 과거 부산지역에는 해남(海男)이 존재 했다는 것을 알게 되었으며, 그들은 해조류(천초, 도박)와 담치 등을 주로 채취하였다고 한다. 부산지역은 해녀문화콘텐츠로 발굴이 필요한 영역이 다수 존재한다는 것을 알 수 있는데, 향후 해녀를 대상으로 음악, 공연, 출판을 비롯하여, 교육, 체험, 음식, 캐릭터 산업 등의 관련 분야로 확장해 나갈 수 있을 것이다.
