Provinces(国)districts(郡)and Ri-unit(里) are classified administrative sections under Ritsuryo code(律令制) in ancient Japan. Many local officials who were lettered class worked there to pursuit house-to-house governance throughout Japan Islands. This paper will examine the relationship between these administrative sections and posting-stations in Kyushu Island by special remains such as stone belt ornaments, pottery ink slabs(陶硯), and ceramics with green glazes which were excavated from the archaeological sites assumed as ancient political centers of these classified administrative sections. In Ritsuryo-codes, posting-stations were not handled as municipal public office but special administrative sections that were equal to Ri-unit to pursuit transportation services as one of public duties. Station chiefs were not local officials with official ranks, but chief of local people in this small administrative sections.
